Ajay Devgan’s Drishyam opening is lower than his previous movies opening day, the film that failed to do a good business at the Box Office. However, by the looks of it, it seems that the paid preview came of no help as the film disappointingly opened to poor star on its first day at the Box Office.
On Thursday, Ajay Devgan’s Drishyam had paid previews where it again received very poor occupancy and managed to only collect approx. Rs. 55 lakhs at domestic box-office.
The film was released on huge 2365 screens in India. As per early estimates, the film has collected around 6.65 crore net on Friday and total collections of 2 days to 7.20 crore at the domestic box-office.
Past performance of Ajay Devgan’s films released in India.
Ajay Devgan last film Action Jackson had taken an opening of 11 crore. Before that his Singham Returns had taken a record opening of 32 crore. Satyagraha too had managed 11 crore on Day One, Himmatwala had brought in 12 crore, Son of Sardaar netted 10.5 crore and Bol Bachchan was 12 crore. Only Tezz, which was a delayed film, could net just 3.5 crore.
